New Year Hope

I am not a fan of New Year Resolutions. My reason is simple - how many of you reading this in February would be able to tell me that you have still kept to your resolution? Rather than focus on what we might do, let us have hope in what God might do through us, in us and around us. He doesn’t fail or slip up on his resolutions.

Towards the end of last year we celebrated the commissioning of our local acknowledged ministers Jennie, Judith and Lynne; as well as Malcolm as lay reader. We looked forward to what God might do through them. One activity is already here, the Causeway Group, led by Lynne and Sue Gilbert. Other things are in the pipeline from Judith and Jennie, with expansion of schools work; creative forms of worship and opportunities for reflection and meditation.

Our glorious Father in heaven also springs on us the odd surprise that we weren’t even planning. The head and staff at All Saints School have been exploring possibilities of strengthening links between the church and school as well as the aspect of being a church school. I have had a couple of meetings with the staff so far which have been both exciting and fun.

God is good, let us be hopeful in what He might be doing in this coming year.

God bless,
